Originally, Colombia regulator, CRC (Comision de Regulacion de Comunicaciones) has requested mobile phones, satellite devices and PSTN devices to apply type approval and Homologation. But, equipment which sends data only via the cellular network is exempted from this requirement.   Now, Authority is going to change the existing regulations in 2016

Effective this year, all terminal equipment that operates in mobile bands and transmits data will be required to obtain type approval and Homologation also. The amendment to the resolution will impact designated product which will be sold or have been put in Colombia market.

UL Solution: UL Taiwan GMA would watch over this change and make capability to deliver service after Authority announce officially.

Morocco Authority has announced that EMC and Safety approval would be requested after 16 April 2016 and will be done by the Ministry of Industry (www.mcinet.gov.ma).

The regulation for both requirements would be following

Safety: Order No 2573-14

EMC: Order No 2574-14

UL Solution:  UL GMA Team would keep watching over this new requirement and announce service path in time.

Malaysian Communications and Multimdia Commission (MCMC) has an announcement where for the stated 28 new added hybrid products that required both ST (safety) + MCMC (RF).

Hybrid products are those whose primary functions are not for communication but are integrated with communication modules such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GSM, 3G and 4G for connection to a public communication network or for radio communication utilising the frequency band up to 420THz.

For customers who their products that just started to have wireless features shall comply with this requirement.

Before, manufacturers/suppliers can just apply either one of the approval like KPDNKK or ST to bring in the products, even with wireless features but now, need to apply for MCMC also.

UL Solution:  UL can assist customers to get the certification.
