We really care whether products work properly and are safe to use – it’s what we do

UL was founded in 1894 to ensure the products used at home and at work are safe. Since then we have upheld best practice in product safety, supporting countless successful product launches along the way. However being safe today means something different from what it did 120 years ago.

As technology has advanced we’ve expanded to ensure we meet our customers demand that products are compliant as well as safe. Today compliance is fundamental to safety. In 2010, we created the consumer technology division specifically to help technology-led businesses get their products to market as quickly as possible with the least fuss.

What makes us different is that we really care whether products work properly and are safe to use. UL strives to work with businesses and engineers who care in the same way. At the heart of UL is excellent engineering. We develop and attract industry-leading engineers who care about the integrity of our customers’ products. And at every stage our engineers are involved on a personal level, they are the face that our clients see.

We don’t cut corners, we invest in the best technology, the best engineers and the best service. That’s why across Greater China and globally, our logo carries significance wherever it’s placed – We are UL Consumer Technology.
